Motownレーベルの副社長としても知られる”Smokey Robinson”が自身のグループ”The Miracles”を率いて69年にリリースしたアルバム！「Hey Jude」や「Callifornia Soul」と言った名曲カヴァーを中心に、ノリの良い60’sソウルのお手本的なA1「You Send Me」や”J.Dilla”がDonutsでループしていた「A Legend In Its Own Time」等を収録！ジャケットも含めてサイコーの１枚！

84年のセントルイス産、ご当地物ならではのマイナーレーベル”Royal”からの１枚で、オススメは、A1″That’s The Way”。

今時のビートと比べても遜色ないファットなキックにキレの良いハイハット、爽やかなギターも気持ちイイ、ブギートラックにパワフルなヴォーカルがのる１曲です。是非大音量で体感して下さい。

８０年代、ブギーなゴスペルはまだまだ良いのがありますね〜
勿論、全然駄目なのもありまくりですが、、、

デトロイト産のナイスな１枚で、ここ日本でゴスペル人気曲と言えばコレでしょう！？的な名曲”I’ll Still Love You”を収録！King James Versionのテイクがあまりにも有名ですが、コチラも負けずにエエ感じに仕上がってます。

さらに、こいつには、”Eddie Kendricks”の”Goin’ Up In Smoke”のカヴァーを収録。
コレが、ピュンピュンシンセが飛び回るナイスなカヴァーでイケてます！
