70年代を「スキン・タイト」「ファイアー」「ラヴ・ローラーコースター」など、珠玉のファンクナンバーでフロアを席巻したオハイオ・プレイヤーズ。その熱くメロウネスに溢れたナンバーを1963年にギター＆ヴォーカルとして参加、まさに黄金時代を築き上げたリロイ“シュガーフット”ボナーが蘇らせる！
オハイオ・プレイヤーズの歴史は古く1959年にまで遡る。不遇な時代を過ごしながらも、70年代に入って「ファイアー」がBillboard HOT 100とR&Bチャートで1位を獲得するなど人気を獲得。特にはメロウなメロディーラインを備えたナンバーは彼らならではの世界。アルバム・ジャケットのセクシーなヴィジュアル・コンセプトも強烈な印象を与え、ファンク・サウンドのアイコンとなった。
